| IRELAND GOLF TOURS - EASTERN IRELAND
Ireland's eastern golf region provides a mix of both classic links and magnificent parkland courses. Portmarnock, The European and Baltray head the list of links courses, while the Druids Glen, The K-Club and Carton House are all championship golf courses of the highest standard. Dublin or Malahide are ideal bases to explore the region. Royal County Down is 2 hours drive.
EASTERN GOLF COURSES
Links courses in the eastern region include Royal Dublin and St. Annes both on Bull Island 4 miles north of Dublin city centre. Just north of these is the world famous Portmarnock Golf Club and adjacent is the newer Langer designed Portmarnock Links. Once accessed by boat from the village of Malahide is The Island golf links, one of the great links awaiting discovery. North of the Boyne estuary is the magnificent County Louth Links at Baltray. 5 minutes drive at the wonderfully named village of Termonfeckin is Seapoint Golf Links. 40 miles south of Dublin is Pat Ruddy's personal creation - The European Links. The new M1 motorway from Dublin goes all the way to the border with Northern Ireland, allowing Royal County Down to be played from Dublin.
There is an abundance of parkland golf available in the east of Ireland including five 36-hole facilities. Many of the courses are located in beautiful County Wicklow, immediately south of Dublin. These include the magnificent Druids Glen, sometimes referred to as the Augusta of Europe, and Tailor-Made Golf Tours #1 ranked parkland course in Ireland. Just north is Powerscourt (also 36) while on the eastern side of the Wicklow Mountains are Rathsallagh and Tulfarris. In County Kildare there are two further 36 hole golf clubs, The K-Club and Carton House. Northeast of Dublin, in the historic Boyne Valley, there are two magnificent courses at Headfort.
